Charsfield Three Horseshoes

The St, Charsfield IP13 7PY, UK – 01473 737187

Had a few meals at the 3 Horseshoes in Charsfield. Food is always excellent - not your typical pub fare but of a high caliber and exceedingly (reasonably) well priced. I believe the chef (who is also the landlord) is French trained. The landlord & landlady are very friendly and always welcoming. Their fish & chip night on a Friday is not to be missed! July 2017 Have had their spare ribs several times recently and the meat falls off the bone! Their chicken-ala-Jerry (the chef) on rice is also absolutely moreish! (the latter is 'when available' but is most of the time) (both pictured) This pub offers excellent food and you get a plate full, unlike some of these so called gastro-pubs that you need to visit a fast food place to fill up afterwards!

The landlord is Jerry and his wife is Sharon. Both are very welcoming and friendly. They regularly get involved in village events. Jerry is a fully trained chef (Hintlesham Hall and France) and produces excellent food. There are plenty of special nights Well worth a visit

The Queen

The Street, Brandeston IP13 7AD, UK – 01728 685307

Looks very nice and has got lots going for it. Great location, good decor, nice menu. Execution/detail was a bit off on the day we went - a Sunday. Beef topside was quite rare, no serrated knife, brioche bun burnt, greens were forgotten. To be fair they took a dish off the bill, but a place with this much potential shouldn’t be making those sorts of errors.

Pleasant village pub with large outdoor spaces. Refurbished interiors give a fresh modern flavour to this otherwise old traditional pub building. Food was nice/good with a couple of niggles.

The Chequers Inn

The Chequers Inn, The Street, Kettleburgh IP13 7JT, UK – 01728 723760

Good food, like pubs should serve, not all fancified.

A great little village pub, not like one of those posh "pubs" nowadays, the portion sizes are huge by the way
